Thur., August 25: We travel up I-5 to Portland where you board Willamette Jetboat Excursions for a 2-hour, fun-filled & exciting trip up the Willamette River to Willamette Falls and return.
We check-in at our home for 2 nights, the lovely Residence Inn by Marriott Portland Riverplace. This fine hotel is located on the west banks of the Willamette River. There is a wonderful River Walk closeby. Also, a Street Car travels right from the hotel to downtown. Enjoy the carousel near the Marriott on Nato Parkway (formerly, Front St.) or find something to eat for dinner.
The hotel also serves a wonderful, complimentary array of breakfast items each morning. Besides lovely rooms, they also have a very nice swimming pool. So enjoy yourself!

Fri., August 26: We depart early to catch the Lewis and Clark Explorer Train for a trip along the Columbia River to Astoria. This is the train's last season.
In Astoria, you can catch the trolley along the waterfront to Old Town, visit the Maritime Museum or the Historic Flavell House or just browse the shops. Take your pick of many choices for lunch on your own. Late afternoon; ALL ABOARD! Get back on your Lewis & Clark Excusion Train for return to the Linnton boarding area near Portland. Your charter bus returns to the hotel for the night. (B)

Sat., August 27: After a relaxing breakfast at your hotel, we take our charter bus to McMinnville to visit the Evergreen Aviation Museum where the Spruce Goose now calls home. There are many other airplanes here as well. Lunch will be included here today. (B,L)
