  We recently checked out a lunch stop recommended to us in Portland.  We found it to be "almost a destination all its own."  Lunch is included at the ALBERTINA KERR  STORES & RESTAURANT in Portland.  Besides a lovely lunch, you will have time to browse through their economy jar collectables, gift shop and thrift shop.  It used to be a children's home until govt. regulations convinced them to close.  Efforts now are directed to adopting children into good homes.  The Stores & Restaurant are run completely by volunteers.  The food is a set lunch with possible alternate selections.  Food was delightful and service was great.  Volunteers are there to please YOU and not just because they need a job.  The shops had quite a nice selection of quality items.

  Next we head across town to the Japanese Gardens, loc ated a djacent to Washington Park.  We will have to park at the street level, but there is a shuttle to take you to the Garden Level and return.  This is always a pleasant garden to stroll through.  It should all amount to a wonderful day.  Come along and invite your friends to join in on the fun.  RESERVE ASAP and send payment.
