    We did this trip a couple of years ago

        and it was a lot of fun!

 
Our first stop is in Lafayette at Our Lady of Guadalupe Trappist Abbey where the monks produce fruitcakes.  We will eat our lunches here and be there through the noon vespers; a short noon-time service where the monks come to the chapel and sing.  Hopefully there will be a tour of the abbey as well.
After lunch we travel a short distance close to Amity to visit the Briggitine Monastery.  They feature wonderfully delicious fudge and truffles.  There will be plenty of supplies so you can do your Holiday buying for gifts and company.
