Tuesday, October 5: We head out southbound via I-5 to Shasta City, CA, then through McCloud and Susanville to Reno NV where we spend the night at SILVER LEGACY HOTEL CASINO.  Dinner is included tonight. (D)

Wednesday, October 6:  We cut across the state of Nevada over several mountain passes, stopping for the night at the HOTEL NEVADA in downtown Ely, NV.

Thursday, October 7:  As we head into Utah, we also enter Mountain Time Zone.  Continuing on US Hwy 50 and later I-70 we go through Salina, Green River and then into Colorado to the HAMPTON INN of Grand Jct. Colorado.  High red sandstone bluffs help make this some great scenery.  (B)

Friday, October 8: We continue eastward through Colorado's Rocky Mountains, enjoying the majestic mountains and hopefully some autumn color of the Aspens.  As we leave the mountains, we come down to the Mile High City of Denver for a two night stay at DRURY INN SE. (B, R)

Saturday, October 9:  We enjoy some of the sights around town in a city tour.  Tonight we plan on a DINNER THEATER.  (B, D)

Sunday, October 10:  Leaving Denver area we head east into Kansas across farm lands, stopping for the night at QUALITY INN in Salina, KS. (B)

Monday, October 11: Our route takes us on through Kansas and across Missouri to St Louis where we spend two nights atDURY INN/UNION STATION. (B, D)

Tuesday, October 12: Today, we visit the Gateway Arch & the

Museum of Western Expansion.  Here you will have a choice between a show at the OmniMax Theater or a ride to the top of the Arch.  Later we visit the OLD COURTHOUSE, scene of the Dred Scott Trial and enjoy some wonderful Galleries depicting the history of St. Louis from its French and Spanish roots to its role in westward expansion. Wednesday, October 13: We cross the Mighty Missisippi River and later the Ohio River as we travel to Nashville, TN for a two night stay at DRURY INN/AIRPORT.  Tonight we enjoy a show at the Historic Ryman Theater, COUNTRY CLASSICS, hosted by Larry Gatlin.  (B, R)

Thursday, October 14: We enjoy a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame.  There are tons of displays here.  Lunch will be on your own today.  (B, evening reception)

Friday, October 15:  We head for Chattanooga, TN where we will enjoy a locally guided city tour, and a cruise on the SOUTHERN BELLE for a lunch cruise.  3 nights at  COMFORT INN. (B, L)

Saturday, October 16:  Our adventures today include RUBY FALLS, ROCK CITY GARDENS, and the INCLINE RAILWAY.  (B)

Sunday, October 17:  This afternoon we take a ride on an old steam train through MISSIONARY RIDGE.  We will learn some of the history of the Civil War Battles fought in this area. (B)

Monday, October 18:  We turn back toward Oregon by way of  the Southern route.  Our destination today is Memphis, TN. where we spend 2 nights at DRURY INN/MEMPHIS.  (B, R)

Tuesday, October 19: Today we visit MUD ISLAND which preserves the Mississippi River History and later we tour GRACELAND, Elvis's home.  (B, R)

Wednesday, October 20:  Destination today takes us to Ft. Smith, Arkansas.  Home for tonight is the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS. (B)

Thursday, October 21: We head across the oil country of Okalahoma and into the Texas panhandle for a two night stop at Amarillo's DRURY INN.  (B, R)

Friday, October 22: Enjoy the scenery of PALO DURO CANYON, the Georgia Street Mall and BIG TEXAS STEAK HOUSE for dinner. (B, D)

Saturday, October 23: We end up in Santa Fe, NM today for a 2 night stop at the SAGE INN, just a short distance from the Historic Plaza of Santa Fe.  (B)

Sunday, October 24: Enjoy browsing around today and exploring the historic plaza area of San Antonio.  (B)

Monday, October 25:  Today's adventure takes us northwest to Durango, CO.
  We make a stop to visit the AZTEC NATIONAL PARK, featuring ancient ruins, built many moons ago.  Home for tonight is the COMFORT INN & SUITES. (B)

Tuesday, October 26:  We head west from Durango into Utah, then north to Moab, UT. where we spend the night at La QUINTA INN.  (B)

Wednesday, October 27:  We should have time to take in some of ARCHES NAT. PARK before continuing on to Provo, UT for a night at BEST WESTERN COTTON TREE INN. (B)

Thursday, October 28:  Today is a travel day that takes us northwest through Salt Lake City and Ogden, into Idaho through Twin Falls and stopping for a night at OXFORD SUITES.  (B, R)

Friday, October 29:  Our last day

on the road takes us across Oregon through Vale, Burns, Bend and back to Eugene via the McKenzie River route.
