Thursday, October 13: Our charter bus takes us down I-5, arriving in Ashland in time for you to find your lunch somewhere before your 1:30 p.m. show at the Bowmer Theater, featuring: "Room Service", a screwball homage to theatre, made famous by the Marx Brothers. Aspiring theatrical impresario, Gordon Miller, has what might be The Great American Play. He doesn't have the dough to produce it, and he's teetering on the brink of eviction from the White Way Hotel. Can he hoodwink the hotel management long enough to scrape together the money?
After this show, you check-in at the Holiday Inn Express for a 2-night stay. After dinner, we transfer back to the theater for the evening performance of "Belle's Stratagem"
"You are invited to a masquerade! Meet Letitia Hardy (sister in spirit to Shakespeare's Rosalind), who is not about to settle for any old conventional arrange marriage. She's madly in love with Doricourt, the man she has been promised to, but wants him to be equally infatuated with her. To this end, she plans a bold deception-to have love as she likes it.
Friday, October 14: Take the morning off! Perhaps you'd like some time to spend in downtown Ashland or maybe you would like to enjoy the pool at the hotel.
Dinner will be included tonight before transfers to our Cabaret Theater for the performance "Five Course Love."
This is a show composed of five vignettes which look at the many faces of love: love attemted, love gone bad, love mismatched, love misguided, love denied and inevitably, love achieved! Each is set in a different type of restaurant with music in the appropriate style. Enjoy Texas Swing, Pop Opera, Cabaret, Latin & Retro Pop; a five course feast of music, drama & plenty of laughs. (B, D)
Saturday, October 15: Relax and enjoy a late morning departure from Ashland.
Lunch will be included at the Historic Wolf Creek Tavern on our way home.
